EPF Caim Process and Claim Status Explained in Simple Terms

Employees with an EPF account are authorised to retrieve EPF savings during their employment in distinct situations. Checking the PF claim status and other requisites will help the applicant to understand whether the process is completed smoothly or not.

PF claim status is the most recent information accessible about one's application for EPF withdrawal claim. It allows the applicant to have a better idea about the withdrawal status. Also, it helps applicants to promptly take action if an error or delay happens during the claim procedure.

Who can Make EPF Claims?

As per the EPF Act, the employees retiring from the service after 58 years of age can claim the final fund settlement. The final settlement includes employee contribution, employer contribution and the interest amount. Depending on the years of service, the employee will be eligible for the Employee Pension Scheme amount as well.

If an employee is unemployed for 60 straight days (two months) or more after leaving the job before they turn 58 can withdraw complete PF balance and EPS for the service years. If the employee is unemployed for 1 month, he/she can withdraw up to 75% and the rest can be withdrawn if the unemployment status continues for more than 2 months.
